Cyndy Green Vs Gideon Kimbrell – VideoJournalism – make your blog private!

For those of you not familiar with Blog searching, www.icerocket.com allows for searching and indexing of blog posts on the web

They have a free API, which means you can build your own websites to legally index and search blogs on the web

As a software engineer I wrote a program which searched blogs for terms related to subjects on my existing websites. This was an experimental project.

In fact, it was too successful. The data amassed so quickly my server could not handle the load, so it had to be shut down as the costs were not justifiable.

If you Google my name “Gideon Kimbrell” you will get a blog post by Cyndy Green claiming I splogged her. Splogging is SPAM and means that I tried to rip off her blog.

In fact, I only pulled data which she had published via XML/RSS feed from her own blog.

If you know anything about blogs, you should know they are seen as a news source and by default they have a feed which ANY website can pull from. If you do not want your blog copied, you must turn off the RSS feed. This is elementary.

Unfortunately Cyndy attacks me in her post, claiming I am a splogger.

In fact, I am a genius, for learning how to index blogs. I did not copy her blog in entirety, word for word. I merely displayed a snippet which she had already published as public information in her feed.

It is unfortunate that people feel they must make others the target for their frustrations and lack of understanding.

Hopefully by reading this you will better understand how blogging and icerocket.com works! If you don’t want your blog posts indexed by other sites, make it private!

I am religious, but believe in a God that is universal and not part of any single religion. I believe Jesus is part of a Divine Trinity, but I refuse the label “Christian” as that infers following a “man”.

I have worked for Fortune 100 clients directly, and through my consulting business, Syragon LLC. Syragon is a name which means an angel which has fallen and is resurrected. It is also an anagram of Saigon of Syria, the ruler who invented chess, the chariot, archery, and many other fine things.

My past is colorful and flamboyant – the price of caring deeply for those around me. I am soulful, and part Cherokee Indian. I am proud of my heritage and my country.
